Getting ceramic braces is a comfortable, straightforward process that usually takes about 45 minutes to an hour. Our team at Aszkler Orthodontics will clean and prepare your teeth before Dr. Rob Aszkler carefully bonds each ceramic bracket into place.

You may notice some mild soreness for a few days after your braces are placed or adjusted, but that's a normal sign your teeth are moving. Over-the-counter pain relievers, orthodontic wax, and eating softer foods can help you stay comfortable while your mouth adjusts.

The ceramic brackets themselves are highly stain-resistant. However, the small clear elastic ties that hold the wire in place can discolor over time, especially if you regularly enjoy coffee, tea, red wine, or foods with strong pigments.

The good news is that we'll replace those elastic ties at each adjustment appointment, so you don't have to give up your favorite foods and drinks completely.

To help protect your braces, it's best to avoid hard, sticky, and chewy foods that can damage brackets or bend wires. Foods like popcorn, caramel, ice, and hard candies are common culprits. We'll give you a complete list of foods to avoid and plenty of tips for eating comfortably during treatment.

Absolutely. Regular dental checkups and cleanings are just as important during orthodontic treatment as they are before it. Your dentist will help keep your teeth and gums healthy while you work toward your new smile.

The day your braces come off is exciting—and easier than most people expect. Dr. Rob will gently remove each bracket, clean away any remaining adhesive, and polish your teeth. Before you leave, we'll fit you for a retainer to help keep your beautiful new smile in place.
